Weekend Apart

This weekend we will be spending our time apart. Tara, is up in the mountains where it is said to be cooler, but let me remind you it's still the Philippines. And actually I am surprised that Tara or I have not melted away! Though, she is going with about 30 other women, 10 women coming from Wheaton, IL to share with them. They are calling this a women's retreat to continue to grow! I am very excited, and hope she can meet, share, and grow with these women. Hopefully befriend some of them as well. Tara helped planned, prepare, and schedule some parts of this trip and she was very excited to go on this. Please be in prepare for her through this retreat!

Where, as I am stuck in Davao City, playing basketball bright and early at 7 am on Saturday! Though I am excited...I have forgotten to mention that Last weekend we had our first Sports Ambassador fellowship, and was able to meet all the local Filipino players. They gave Tara and I both a great and warm welcome, and were excited to play with me. We were able to play two games last weekend just exhibition games without sharing the gospel. This was in a league that the sports ministry that I am working with has already set up, and being ministered too. But, the reason we were able to play in the league was because a team canceled for good, and they other teams were still wanting to play games!

So please be in prayer for me, playing, meeting, and hanging out more and more with these local guys. There is so much to tell you in detail about different situations, experiences, and just life in the Philippines so far. Though so little time, not enough words to explain, and well it's just difficult to express everything! If you have any questions at any time you can always email us!
